Why Do The Abrasive Wheels Training Course?
The abrasive wheels training course is a legal requirement under the Health and Safety At Work Act 2005, Schedule 14, regulation 213. This law states that anyone involved in the purchase & selection, storage & handling, mounting, dressing and use of abrasive wheels must be trained. This includes either fixed (e.g. Bench grinders or polishers) or portable (e.g. angle grinders).
The main aim of the course is to make people aware of the risks involved with abrasive wheels and to provide the skills and knowledge to use abrasive wheels as safely as possible

- Inspection & testing of abrasive wheels
- Guarding of grinding and cutting operations
- Dressing and truing of abrasive wheels

- Differences between grinding and cutting operations
- Safe mounting of the abrasive wheel
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course employees will have an understanding of all the above content and will be granted a 3 year certificate from Trojan Safety Training stating attendance and competence of the course.
